Approximately 35 percent of electricity consumers in Uzbekistan reportedly consumed more than 200 kWh of electricity during the month of August. These figures were officially disclosed during a press conference featuring the management of the regional power distribution enterprise "Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari" (HET).

According to former First Deputy Chairman Bobir Islamov, the country has a total of 8.34 million registered electricity consumers. Statistical breakdown for August revealed that 5.68 million households used up to 200 kWh, 1.13 million consumers utilized between 200 and 300 kWh, and 354 thousand households exceeded the 300 kWh threshold, with each household calculated as a single consumer unit.

Addressing preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter season, HET head Sardor Isaqulov stated that potential risk zones were categorized into specific color-coded levels, with 843 billion soums allocated nationwide for preventive maintenance and modernization. However, Isaqulov candidly admitted that temporary power outages cannot be entirely avoided due to routine technical upgrades and inevitable external factors such as construction accidents and transport damages.

To improve customer service and transparency, the company is currently developing a digital notification system in cooperation with "Uzinfokom." This platform is intended to automatically warn consumers via Telegram regarding scheduled maintenance work a couple of days in advance, allowing citizens to better plan their daily activities around necessary infrastructural updates.
