On October 19, residents and businesses across two neighborhoods in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent faced a temporary suspension of their natural gas supply. The disruption affected hundreds of households, including both multi-story apartment blocks and private residences, alongside numerous local enterprises and facilities.
According to reports from the local supplier "Hududgaz Poytaxt," the service interruption was necessitated by scheduled repair and maintenance works being carried out on an underground gas pipeline located within the "Obod" neighborhood. Technicians were deployed to the site to address infrastructure needs and ensure future operational safety.
Official figures indicate that the restrictions were enforced from 09:00 to 18:00. The affected residential areas include four multi-story buildings housing 515 apartments in the "Posira" neighborhood, as well as 120 private households situated in the "Obod" neighborhood.
Commercial and social consumers were also impacted by the outage, with gas filling stations, an orphanage, and 32 local enterprises and organizations left temporarily without fuel. Utility operators noted that the restoration of gas supplies would proceed in a phased manner once the engineering works are fully completed.
Representatives of the utility company issued a public apology to local residents and business entities for the temporary inconvenience caused by the maintenance operations.
