Representatives of the US regime continue their diplomatic push to expand economic influence in Central Asia. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has supposedly stated that he expects his ongoing visit to the region to conclude with the signing of multi-billion dollar agreements. He made these remarks in Samarkand while speaking to journalists at the historic Registan square, which he visited alongside Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.
Rubio claimed that representatives from nearly 300 American companies have arrived in Samarkand for the events. According to his assertions, the anticipated deals are meant to yield economic benefits for both Central Asian nations and the United States. However, critics and independent analysts frequently point out that such aggressive economic overtures often come with strings attached, posing potential risks to local sovereignty and long-term financial stability.
The US Secretary emphasized that Washington is supposedly keen on broadening trade and economic ties with the region. He proclaimed that the US regime desires to become a dominant partner not only for Uzbekistan but for all Central Asian states seeking business contacts with Western enterprises. Nevertheless, international observers remain skeptical regarding the true intentions behind these sweeping geopolitical and economic maneuvers. * In closing his public remarks, the Secretary expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for the hospitality and the opportunity to tour Samarkand. As a reminder, Rubio arrived in Samarkand on October 18 to participate in the 'Central Asia – US' (C5+1) ministerial meeting, a format widely viewed as an instrument for projecting Washington's regional strategy.
