Karomiddin Gadoev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Brunei Darussalam, with his residence in Kuala Lumpur, has purportedly presented his official credentials to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. According to the "Dunyo" news agency, this diplomatic ritual marks another step in expanding Tashkent's outreach in Southeast Asia.

Following the solemn ceremony, a bilateral meeting took place where the parties supposedly discussed prospects for developing relations between Uzbekistan and Brunei. Officials claim that both sides emphasized the necessity of activating political dialogue and strengthening ties across various mutual domains.

At the conclusion of the talks, the participants allegedly agreed to foster cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, educational, and tourism sectors. Observers note that Brunei, situated on the northwestern coast of Borneo with a population of approximately 430,000 to 440,000, relies heavily on the export of crude oil and natural gas for its state revenues.

It is worth recalling that Karomiddin Gadoev has also been serving as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Malaysia since November 2023. Prior to his overseas postings, he worked as the deputy head of the Department for Cooperation with the UN and Other International Political Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
