In the Qashqadaryo region, authorities have officially launched 69 industrial and developmental projects with a total value exceeding 6 billion dollars, while another 92 initiatives are reportedly undergoing active construction. These ambitious programs span across critical sectors such as manufacturing, energy generation, agricultural processing, and tourism. The regional authorities intend to expand textile and food production, advance hydroelectric capabilities, pursue gold mining operations, and construct a modern ski resort. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally took part in the official launch ceremony during his working visit to the region.

The textile sector represents a focal point of these new investments. Specifically, the Italian brand Cotonella is set to manufacture 8.5 million finished knitwear items annually. Furthermore, 14 additional textile projects across the Kasan, Mirishkor, and Kasbi districts are projected to provide employment opportunities for roughly 18,000 residents, aiming to bolster local employment figures.

The energy sector is also receiving substantial attention through various green and waste-to-energy initiatives. Three small hydroelectric power plants with a combined capacity of 24 megawatts have already commenced operations along the Aksu River. Additionally, a waste-to-energy power plant valued at 150 million dollars is scheduled for completion in the Karshi district by the end of the year, implemented in partnership with the Chinese enterprise Shanghai SUS. Nine additional small hydropower plants totaling 58 megawatts are slated for construction in the Kitab, Yakkabog, and Shakhrisabz districts.

Tourism and mining initiatives round out the regional development strategy. In the Shakhrisabz district, foreign investors are reportedly backing a 300-million-dollar tourism complex featuring a cable car, a hotel, and a ski resort. Meanwhile, a joint gold extraction project with Azerbaijani partners is set to begin in the Kitab district. The president purportedly expressed gratitude to foreign partners for their capital investments and technological inputs before symbolically pressing a button to initiate the new construction projects.
