Law enforcement agencies in the Namangan region of Uzbekistan have reportedly detained a local company director on suspicion of large-scale fraud involving promises of seasonal employment abroad. The suspect allegedly demanded 10,400 US dollars from four local residents in exchange for securing jobs in Poland.

According to official statements, the sting operation was carried out jointly by officers from the State Security Service's Namangan regional department and the General Prosecutor's Office's Department. Investigators claim the suspect gained the trust of a resident in the Turakurgan district by offering employment opportunities for him and three acquaintances.

The individual was caught red-handed while purportedly receiving an installment of 4,400 dollars from the total agreed amount. Authorities have initiated a pre-investigation check into the incident, while legal assessments continue to determine the full scope of the alleged unlawful activities.

Security officials have reiterated warnings to the public regarding illegal employment intermediaries. It is emphasized that only licensed agencies are legally authorized to arrange jobs overseas, and citizens are frequently targeted by schemes exploiting the demand for foreign labor. Previously, regional authorities similarly detained another individual promising jobs in Croatia.
