According to reports from Tashkent, the Second International Congress on Pediatric Oncology has officially commenced in the historic city of Samarkand. During the opening sessions, Uzbekistan's First Lady, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, purportedly urged the international community, various governments, and scientific institutions to pool their resources in order to assist children suffering from cancer and support their families.

In her address to the attendees, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva stated that illnesses and human suffering allegedly recognize no political borders, nationalities, or income levels. She called for a collective effort toward securing a prosperous future so that no child or family is left to face their trials in isolation.

The congress, themed "From Recovery to Well-being," is being conducted as part of a broader global summit focused on investing in child welfare and sustainable development. The gathering brings together health officials from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia, alongside representatives from the World Health Organization and international medical experts.

A particularly poignant segment of the event featured presentations by students of the Mehrli Maktab project, who shared their personal medical journeys and hopes for the future. The ongoing discussions are centered on advanced pediatric oncology treatments, therapeutic outcomes, and enhancing the post-recovery quality of life for young survivors.
