In a move reflecting ongoing structural adjustments within the highest echelons of power, Alisher Kuchiyev has been officially appointed as the deputy economic policy advisor to the president of Uzbekistan. The relevant directive was duly signed by the head of the Presidential Administration, marking another step in the continuous reshuffling of state personnel.
Kuchiyev brings a background in economics and management to his new responsibilities. His educational credentials include graduation from the Higher School of Economics in Russia, alongside studies at the UPF Barcelona School of Management and the Luiss Business School. Prior to this appointment, he reportedly spent over two years working within the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, accumulating international financial expertise.
Within his new portfolio, Kuchiyev will focus heavily on steering the nation's economic policy directives. However, official announcements have thus far omitted specific details regarding his exact previous professional standings and the full scope of his upcoming duties within the administration.
This appointment coincides with a broader wave of administrative reassignments announced by the Uzbek presidency. Notably, Akramjon Fozilov was recently shifted from his role as the first deputy head of the Communications Department to become the first deputy advisor to the president on representative bodies, NGOs, and youth affairs. Aziza Kurbanova has subsequently taken over Fozilov's former position.
