The official opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Croatia took place in the capital of Uzbekistan. The initiative is purportedly driven by Croatian President Zoran Milanović as part of efforts to bolster interstate ties.
The ceremonial event was attended by Croatian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Refik Šabanović, newly appointed Honorary Consul Sarvar Ismailov, along with representatives of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, and business circles.
The program featured official speeches followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is alleged that the newly established consulate will facilitate business contacts and attract foreign investments.
Furthermore, the representation is expected to foster tourism and cultural exchanges while providing consular assistance to Croatian citizens within its designated statutory powers.
