Extended power outages in the Shaykhontakhur district of the capital have sparked widespread discussions and complaints among local residents across social media platforms. Industry authorities felt compelled to issue official statements to address the growing public frustration.
According to the department, scheduled technical works were carried out on October 22 at the 35/10/6 kilovolt 'Sevinch' substation. These operations purportedly involved commissioning the newly installed T-3 transformer with a capacity of 6,300 kilovolt-amperes. * Officials claim that consumers were notified of the upcoming outage a day in advance, with progress updates allegedly shared through the service's official social media channels. However, technical processes required for the safe grid connection and launch of the new equipment reportedly took longer than anticipated.
Consequently, the temporary suspension of electricity supply had to be extended from 17:00 to 21:00, prompting additional notifications to be sent to affected subscribers. Specialists formally apologized for the inconvenience caused and asked residents to show understanding toward the necessary maintenance measures.
