Business entities developing tourism infrastructure around reservoirs and adjacent areas in Uzbekistan are set to receive significant tax reductions and customs payment deferrals. According to an official presidential decree, these preferential measures will remain in effect until October 1, 2029, aiming to boost regional tourism development and attract fresh investments.

Under the newly adopted framework, legal entities will benefit from land and property tax rates slashed to 50 percent of the standard statutory amounts. Additionally, entrepreneurs are granted the option to defer or stagger customs payments for up to 120 days when importing specialized water transport GPS equipment, safety gear, protective devices, and modern sanitation modules.

Alongside these financial incentives, the authorities are imposing strict environmental and safety compliance mandates. Tourism operators must equip their facilities with adequate visitor protection tools and organize dedicated rescue units or contract professional rescue services for emergencies. Furthermore, businesses must strictly regulate small vessel operations, install local wastewater treatment plants, and prevent any discharge of untreated sewage into natural water bodies.
