On November 5–6, the historic city of Samarkand is set to host the inaugural expert dialogue in the «SCO Plus» format dedicated to pressing security matters. Organizers reportedly expect participation from 33 delegations representing 24 countries, alongside delegates from five international organizations, signaling wide regional engagement.

The high-profile event will allegedly be held under the chairmanship of B. Kurbanov, the head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Colonel-General. The meeting will bring together heads and representatives of special services from SCO member states, observer nations, and dialogue partners to address emerging challenges.

According to the agenda, the core theme of the discussions will focus on countering terrorism and extremism amid ongoing digital transformation. Participants are expected to analyze the impact of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence on contemporary threats and risks, seeking ways to mitigate potential dangers.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, authorities plan to outline specific tasks and priority directions for cooperation in combating international terrorism and extremism. It is worth noting that the initiative to establish this cooperative format was purportedly put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the SCO Astana summit in 2024.
