A construction company identified as LLC "B.D.", currently developing a multi-story residential complex along Jarkurgon Street in Tashkent's Yashnabad district, has been implicated in severe environmental violations. Official reports indicate that the developer had formally requested permission to cut down 50 juniper trees and one plane tree, but the Tashkent City Ecology Department explicitly denied the application.
Despite the official prohibition, the construction firm proceeded to cut down all 51 trees. An inspection conducted by Ecology Committee officials revealed a series of additional infractions at the site. Notably, vehicle wheel-washing stations were absent at the construction entrances and exits, causing mud and soil to spread across Jarkurgon Street for a distance of 2 to 2.5 kilometers.
Furthermore, the enterprise failed to provide any documentation regarding the disposal destination of 126,188.9 tons of demolition waste and 368,432 tons of excavated soil from the foundation pit. Inspectors also found 12,036 tons of solid domestic and construction waste illegally dumped in unauthorized areas, with no valid contracts in place for waste removal or wastewater management.
As a result of the environmental damage and illegal waste placement, financial sanctions totaling 5.183 billion sums in compensation fees have been levied against the company. An additional 396 million sums in damages must be paid for the destruction of plant life. Moreover, the firm has been mandated to plant 100 saplings—each at least three years old—for every tree destroyed, totaling 5,100 trees, and maintain them for a three-year period. The company's director was also issued an administrative fine of 4.4 million sums.
