The Uzbekistan national football team is actively preparing for upcoming international friendly matches scheduled during the November FIFA window. The coaching staff has officially released the roster of players called up for the training camp, which serves as a crucial preparatory stage for the squad ahead of upcoming competitive challenges.
Key Takeaways: Uzbekistan will face Russia in Tashkent on November 12 before traveling to Doha to play Saudi Arabia on November 17. Meanwhile, key defender Abdukodir Husanov has been left out of the squad to continue his recovery process, while forward Eldor Shomurodov will miss the opening days due to family reasons.
Ahead of these high-profile fixtures, the team's medical and coaching staff carefully assessed the physical conditions of the players. Specifically, a cautious decision was made to exclude Abdukodir Husanov from the training camp to ensure he fully recuperates without risking further setbacks. Additionally, team captain and striker Eldor Shomurodov will be temporarily absent at the beginning of the camp due to personal family circumstances.
The announced squad features a balanced mix of domestic league players and foreign-based legionnaires. The goalkeeping department includes Abduvohid Nematov, Vladimir Nazarov, Edem Nemanov, and Samandar Muratbayev. Defensive and midfield areas are reinforced by internationally experienced players such as Rustamjon Ashurmatov, Jahongir Orozov, Behruzjon Karimov, Abbos Fayzullayev, and Odiljon Hamrobekov, providing the team with substantial tactical depth.
These upcoming fixtures are anticipated to test the readiness and depth of the Uzbek squad against formidable opponents. The match against the Russian selection is set for November 12 at 20:00 at the Pakhtakor Stadium in Tashkent, followed by the encounter against Saudi Arabia on November 17 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
Observers note that these friendly matches will offer valuable insights for the coaching staff as they evaluate fringe players and fine-tune their strategies, despite the initial absences hampering the optimal lineup configuration during the opening days of the gathering.
