οΈ According to information from the press service of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country's pharmaceutical industry has attracted a total of $1.8 billion in investments over the past nine years. During this period, 140 new production facilities have been commissioned, highlighting extensive efforts to modernize and expand this sector.
οΈ As a result of these investments, production volume in the industry has increased 3.5-fold, exceeding 7.3 trillion Uzbek soums. Concurrently, the range of domestically produced medicines has doubled. Currently, more than 300 specialized enterprises operate in the pharmaceutical field, with 58 of them being direct manufacturers of medicinal products.
οΈ Pharmaceutical products manufactured in Uzbekistan are exported to 55 countries, reflecting the country's growing participation in regional and international markets. The number of jobs created in the industry has surpassed 40,000, contributing significantly to the economy.
οΈ The total market volume for medicines and medical goods has reached nearly $2.5 billion. These indicators demonstrate the effectiveness of Uzbekistan's policy to develop the pharmaceutical sector and reduce imports, though challenges remain regarding the long-term sustainability of investments and the need for further improvements in product quality.
