️ A delegation comprising representatives from Uzbekistan's Uzbek Overseas Geology Company (UOGC) and the state enterprise Navoiyuran is currently on an official visit to Mongolia. During the trip, detailed discussions were held regarding the conduct of geological exploration work on prospective uranium sites within Mongolian territory.
️ UOGC Deputy Director Avzal Mirabdullayev held a meeting with representatives of Mongolia's state-owned Mon Atom company, where negotiations were conducted for implementing geological exploration activities aimed at identifying uranium reserves in the country throughout 2026. The parties also discussed the signing of a strategic agreement between the ministries and organizations responsible for the mining and geological sectors of both nations, within the framework of an intergovernmental meeting scheduled for April.
️ Under this agreement, it is planned to sign a service contract between UOGC and Mongolia's Mon Atom company. The contract will involve preparing a necessary documentation package for areas assessed as prospective for uranium, including the development of geological and environmental projects, collection of relevant certificates and data, and their submission to the authorized organization in Mongolia with licensing authority.
️ According to the plan, after formalizing the relevant licenses this year, geological exploration work will commence on sites in Mongolia deemed prospective for uranium. In the initial phase, based on the developed project documents, comprehensive drilling operations are envisaged, with an estimated volume of approximately 60,000 meters in allocated areas. The results of these activities will identify potential uranium reserves in these sites, and based on the obtained data, a refined program for subsequent exploration stages is planned to be developed.
️ Concurrently, negotiations are underway to conclude contracts with drilling and geophysical companies operating in Mongolia to carry out geological exploration work after the licenses are officially formalized. Previously, UOGC initiated a geological exploration project in Afghanistan, indicating the company's efforts to expand its regional activities in resource exploration.
