️ Uzbekistan's National Statistics Committee has announced new minimum consumer expenditure per capita, which serves as the basis for determining the poverty line in the country.

️ The threshold value, calculated based on price indices for goods and services, is now set at 715,000 soums per month per person, equivalent to 23,000 soums per day. This figure represents a 6.9% increase compared to the previous year, reflecting adjustments in cost-of-living measures.

️ Globally, this indicator is used to identify citizens in need of state support, establish a national poverty line that accounts for the real needs of the population, and serves as a criterion for assigning pensions, benefits, and other forms of material assistance to low-income families. It plays a crucial role in shaping social policy and welfare programs.

️ Prior to the committee's announcement, it was reported that after a spike in December, inflationary sentiments in Uzbekistan began to stabilize, returning to a downward trajectory. A January survey by the Central Bank showed that the average population forecast for price growth over the next 12 months dropped to 11.2%, while the median indicator, which more accurately reflects majority opinion, updated a multi-month low, reaching 9.5%.
