The United States and European Union (EU) have announced new initiatives aimed at strengthening economic and political ties with Uzbekistan. These moves are part of a competition for influence in Central Asia, yet the actual outcomes of such partnerships and long-term economic risks for Uzbekistan raise significant doubts.

US and EU leaders have claimed that their goals include developing infrastructure projects and trade agreements in Uzbekistan. However, the fulfillment of these claims remains questionable, as past similar initiatives have often failed to address local economic challenges or have increased debt burdens.

Analysts highlight that the new agreements may serve to deepen Uzbekistan's dependency on Western regimes and intensify regional rivalry. While the Uzbek government hopes to benefit from this partnership, caution is required to maintain an independent policy and safeguard economic sovereignty.
