Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has unveiled new initiatives aimed at strengthening dialogue between state leadership and citizens. He stated that this process is designed to enhance openness and trust in society, as well as ensure active citizen participation in state policy.
The President emphasized that “strengthening communication between the government and the people is not only a crucial part of democratic reforms but also a key condition for the sustainable development of our country.” He also highlighted the need to improve mechanisms for swiftly addressing citizen issues and considering their proposals through the use of digital technologies.
Under the initiative, plans include updating the system for processing citizen appeals via government websites and mobile applications, along with holding open meetings in local authorities. Mirziyoyev described these measures as “important for bolstering trust and cooperation in society, ensuring economic growth and social stability.”
Experts have welcomed the initiative but cautioned about overcoming bureaucratic hurdles and combating traditional methods during implementation. The President’s statements are viewed as part of ongoing efforts to develop relations between state governance and civil society in Uzbekistan.
