A solemn ceremony marked the opening of the new "Bukhara" Mosque in Turkey's Hatay province. The religious structure was built with Uzbek participation and stands as a symbol of deep gratitude for the gratuitous aid and solidarity demonstrated by the people of Uzbekistan during a difficult period for Turkey.

The new mosque is located in the center of a large residential complex designed for 3,200 households. Constructed in a modern architectural style, the mosque can accommodate up to 500 worshippers simultaneously. The project, implemented as part of strengthening humanitarian cooperation, combines aesthetic design with all necessary facilities for believers.

It is recalled that on February 6, 2023, a powerful earthquake struck Turkey. Tremors measuring 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude devastated the country's southeast, claiming over 57,000 lives and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless. Economic damage exceeded $100 billion, and recovery efforts in the affected areas continue to this day.

In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, dozens of countries provided assistance to Turkey, dispatching rescue teams, medical personnel, and humanitarian supplies. Among them were specialists from Uzbekistan, who worked to rescue people from under the rubble and provide medical aid to the injured. Uzbek citizens also contributed to the efforts to mitigate the tragedy's consequences.

Three years on, Turkey continues to rebuild the devastated territories, constructing housing and social facilities. A significant symbol of this recovery is the "Uzbekistan" residential complex in Hatay province, built with Uzbekistan's support for families who lost their homes. The complex was inaugurated in late January with the participation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
