The Bloomberg Billionaires Index daily shows how the list of the world's richest people changes. In 2026, global wealth is increasingly concentrating in the hands of tech magnates, with the gap between them and the rest of the world continuing to widen. This index tracks the fortunes of 500 billionaires worldwide and is updated after the close of trading in New York.
In 2026, Elon Musk firmly holds the top spot—his wealth is estimated at over half a trillion dollars, specifically $665 billion, due to assets in Tesla, SpaceX, and the artificial intelligence sector. However, in March of this year, according to Forbes data, Musk's wealth was valued at a record $839 billion.
Following him are Google founders Larry Page ($291 billion) and Sergey Brin ($270 billion), as well as Jeff Bezos (Amazon) ($270 billion) and Mark Zuckerberg (Meta) ($243 billion). Also in the top ten are Larry Ellison (Oracle), Michael Dell, Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), French businessman Bernard Arnault (LVMH), and Jim Walton (Walmart).
American billionaires dominate confidently: eight of the ten leaders in the ranking are U.S. citizens. Major fortunes are concentrated in the technology sector—Tesla, Google, Amazon, Meta, Oracle, Dell, and NVIDIA form the basis of the list. The only European in the top 10 remains Frenchman Bernard Arnault (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), whose wealth has significantly decreased due to a drop in luxury segment stocks.
It is noted that billionaires' fortunes change by billions of dollars literally overnight, highlighting the dependence of global wealth on stock market fluctuations and the successes of major companies. And judging by current dynamics, in the coming years, it will be technology leaders who determine who tops the list of the world's richest people.
