In a joint operation conducted by the State Security Service, internal affairs agencies, and customs officials in Uzbekistan, a previously monitored citizen was arrested in Margilan. The 53-year-old man, who had prior convictions for drug-related crimes, was caught red-handed while retrieving 24 kg 475 grams of hashish from a hidden cache in the Khodjaabad district.

The hashish had been left by his accomplices from Kyrgyzstan, highlighting cross-border smuggling and illegal drug distribution activities. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 28,246 (Smuggling) and Part 5 of Article 25,273 (Illegal Sale of Narcotic Substances) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The suspect has been placed in pre-trial detention as a preventive measure.

Investigative actions are currently underway to identify other individuals involved in the crime. Authorities are urging citizens to report similar incidents via the short number 1520 of the State Security Service, with confidentiality guaranteed.
