US President Donald Trump stated during a state dinner at the White House that Britain's King Charles III agrees that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. Trump also claimed that Iran has been 'militarily defeated.'

'We have militarily defeated that particular opponent,' Trump said, adding: 'Charles agrees with me even more than I do — we're never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon.'

King Charles III addressed a joint session of the US Congress on the second day of his four-day visit, focusing on strengthening the UK-US alliance. He emphasized the 'shared responsibility' to protect the environment and warned against the collapse of natural systems.

The king called the alliance 'one of the most consequential in human history' and urged against inward-looking policies. He also mentioned Ukraine, calling for 'a truly just and lasting peace.'

The US State Department announced it will produce commemorative passports bearing Trump's portrait for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Leaked comments from British ambassador Christian Turner surfaced, in which he reportedly called the 'special relationship' term 'nostalgic' and 'backwards-looking.' The UK Foreign Office stated the remarks were private and not government policy.
