US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of 'Project Freedom,' a maritime operation purportedly aimed at guiding stranded vessels out of the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has maintained a blockade since late February. Iran has swiftly condemned the move as a violation of the existing ceasefire.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed the US regime faces a choice between an 'impossible' military operation or a 'bad deal' with Tehran, following Trump's reported dissatisfaction with Iran's latest peace proposal. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated it had submitted a 14-point plan focused on ending the war, and that Washington had responded via Pakistani mediators.

The Iranian military warned that any foreign forces, especially the US military, approaching the Strait would be targeted. Major General Ali Abdollahi asserted that the security of the waterway is under Iran's control and any safe passage must be coordinated with Iranian forces.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it would support the mission with 15,000 personnel, over 100 aircraft, warships, and drones. Admiral Brad Cooper claimed the defensive mission is essential for regional security and the global economy, while maintaining the naval blockade against Iran.

Iran's parliamentary national security chief, Ebrahim Azizi, declared any American interference a ceasefire violation, adding that 'the Strait will not be managed by Trump's delusional posts!' The blockade has disrupted global markets, affecting oil, gas, and fertilizer supplies, with over 900 commercial vessels stranded in the Persian Gulf as of April 29, according to AXSMarine.
