Law enforcement authorities in Uzbekistan have brought a Turkish citizen from Peru, who was placed on an international wanted list via Interpol. The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan reported this.

The suspect is charged under Part 4 of Article 168 of the Uzbek Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale). He had been hiding from investigators in Peru and was apprehended as part of an international manhunt.

The extradition process was carried out with the cooperation of several countries. Interpol bureaus in Tashkent and Lima coordinated operational actions, the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of Peru provided legal assistance, and competent authorities in France and the UAE facilitated transit passage.

The extradited individual has been brought to Uzbekistan, where relevant procedural actions are being conducted against him.
