Real Madrid have fined Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde €500,000 ($588,000) each following a training ground altercation that left Valverde requiring hospital treatment. The club imposed no sporting sanctions, stating the fine concludes internal procedures.

Valverde will miss Sunday's Clasico against Barcelona due to a head injury sustained in the incident. The club said he would be sidelined for up to two weeks. Tchouameni trained on Friday and could feature at Camp Nou this weekend.

Madrid said both players expressed complete remorse and apologized to each other during the investigation. They also apologized to the club, teammates, coaching staff, and fans, accepting whatever sanction the club deemed appropriate.

Spanish reports indicated Valverde needed stitches for a facial wound and was accompanied to hospital by Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa. Valverde downplayed the incident on social media, claiming he accidentally hit a table during an argument, causing a small cut.

Reports suggest the quarrel began on Wednesday and escalated on Thursday, with Valverde refusing to shake hands and then fouling Tchouameni, leading to a scuffle in the dressing room where the injury occurred.

Tensions are high at Real Madrid as the club faces a second consecutive season without a major trophy. Los Blancos trail Barcelona by 11 points in La Liga, with the Catalans able to clinch the title on Sunday.
