US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's response to American proposals to end the ongoing war, calling it 'totally unacceptable' in a post on Truth Social.

Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Tehran's proposal, conveyed via Pakistan as a mediator, included an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, lifting of the US naval blockade, and guarantees of no further attacks on Iran.

A ceasefire aimed at facilitating talks to end the war launched by the US and Israel on February 28 has largely held, despite occasional exchanges of fire.

Earlier this week, Trump reiterated that the war in Iran would be 'over quickly'. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran's enriched uranium stockpile must be 'taken out' before the war can be considered over.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian did not directly address the proposal but asserted that Iran 'will never bow its head before the enemy'.

Axios reported that the US one-page, 14-point memorandum includes a suspension of Iranian nuclear enrichment, lifting of sanctions, and restoration of free transit through the Strait of Hormuz, contingent on a final agreement.

Iran continues to block the Strait of Hormuz, driving up global oil prices, while the US enforces a blockade of Iranian ports to pressure Tehran.

Iranian military spokesman Mohammad Akraminia warned vessels crossing the strait would face 'severe consequences' if they did not cooperate with Tehran first.

The UK is sending a warship to the Middle East to potentially join an international mission to safeguard shipping in the strait. In response, Iran warned of a 'decisive and immediate response' to any French or British deployments.

Kuwait and the UAE reported intercepting drones originating from Iran.

Defence ministers from over 40 nations are set to meet Monday to discuss UK-led plans to protect shipping in the strait once hostilities cease.
