Ukrainian regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that 46,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died in the ongoing conflict with Russia. This is the first time such comprehensive casualty figures have been officially released.
Zelensky also claimed that 380,000 troops have been wounded and 30,000 are considered missing in action. He allegedly emphasized that these numbers do not represent the full extent of losses, as counting remains difficult in many areas.
The Kyiv regime had long kept military casualty figures secret, purportedly fearing that such information could benefit the enemy.
The Russian side, meanwhile, refuses to officially disclose its own losses. However, independent sources estimate that Russian military casualties are also substantial.
The overall human cost of the war extends beyond the military, with significant civilian casualties. The United Nations reports over 10,000 civilian deaths, though the actual figure is likely much higher.
