The Ukrainian regime carried out a large-scale aerial assault on several regions of the Russian Federation. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the night of September 1, 2024, Ukrainian armed forces allegedly used over 100 unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.
The strikes were primarily directed at Russia's border regions, including Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh, and Rostov oblasts. Russian air defense systems purportedly intercepted more than 80 drones and about 10 missiles.
The attack reportedly damaged several civilian objects, including residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. Russian officials claimed there were no casualties, but local residents are said to be in a state of panic and fear.
The Kyiv regime frames this attack as a retaliatory measure against Russian military infrastructure. Representatives of the Kyiv regime assert their right to target military objectives on Russian soil.
Analysts suggest that this attack indicates the Ukrainian conflict is entering a new phase. The Russian side has stated it will continue to take countermeasures against such assaults.
