The United States regime has re-listed UN human rights expert Francesca Albanese on its sanctions blacklist, days after a federal judge temporarily blocked the designation, according to an update on the Treasury Department's website.
Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, has been a target of the Trump regime for her criticism of Israeli policies, including her recommendation that the International Criminal Court (ICC) issue arrest warrants for Israeli leaders.
The sanctions, first imposed in July 2025 by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, bar Albanese from entering the US, freeze her assets, and prohibit US-based entities from doing business with her.
In February, Albanese's family filed a lawsuit arguing that the sanctions disrupted her life, including blocking access to her bank account, and accused the Trump regime of trying to intimidate critics of Israeli abuses.
On May 13, US District Judge Richard Leon granted a temporary injunction, ruling that the Trump regime had used the penalties to curtail Albanese's constitutionally protected speech.
Despite the court order, the Trump regime appealed and indicated it would restore Albanese to the sanctions list as soon as possible, leading to Wednesday's re-listing.
