The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a Belgium-based non-governmental organization, has filed a complaint with Indian authorities demanding the immediate arrest of Eitan Gilboa, an Israeli army reservist currently vacationing in Himachal Pradesh, for his alleged role in war crimes in Gaza.

According to HRF, Gilboa documented himself systematically demolishing entire residential blocks in Gaza and posted the videos on social media, celebrating the destruction as acts of revenge. The organization claims this constitutes grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention, to which India is a signatory.

The NGO is named after a five-year-old Palestinian girl killed by Israeli forces in Gaza in January 2024. HRF has filed over 1,000 cases with the International Criminal Court and claims to have achieved procedural outcomes in Brazil, Romania, Peru, Belgium, and Canada.

Gilboa was born in Gaza but left after Israel's withdrawal in 2005. He returned as a soldier following the outbreak of war in October 2023, allegedly staging photographs recreating scenes of his youth amidst the ruins of Palestinian playgrounds.

HRF Director Dyab Abou Jahjah stated: "Eitan Gilboa is not a tourist. He is a war criminal. India must act immediately to arrest him and not allow its soil to become a safe haven for those who celebrate the destruction of civilian lives."
