India launched a scathing attack on Pakistan at the United Nations, condemning its anti-India rhetoric and military airstrikes on Afghanistan that killed hundreds of civilians. India's permanent representative to the UN, Harish Parvathaneni, called the Pakistani government's directive to refer to militant groups operating within its borders as 'Fitna al-Hindustan' a 'state-sponsored misinformation and disinformation dressed in religious terminology.'
Parvathaneni described the move as an outcome of an 'organized factory of hate' emanating from Pakistan's deep state, aimed at keeping citizens in a state of permanent hostility with India. In 2025, the Pakistani government officially designated all terrorist groups in Balochistan province as 'Fitna al-Hindustan.'
India also criticized Pakistan's airstrikes on Afghanistan, calling them a 'blatant assault' on the country's sovereignty. 'Dressing up a massacre as a military operation does not absolve the perpetrator. Killing, maiming, and orphaning civilians is not counterterrorism,' Parvathaneni said. Nearly 400 people were reportedly killed in Afghanistan in the first three months of this year.
Meanwhile, a US federal court struck down Trump's policy charging employers a $100,000 fee for sponsoring foreign workers under the H-1B visa program, bringing relief to many Indians aspiring to work in the US.
