US President Donald Trump announced on social media that a deal to end hostilities between the US and Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday. He also stated that the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route, would be open to all following the agreement.

However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei expressed caution, saying the exact date of signing is uncertain and it would not happen on Sunday.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a key mediator, said finalization is expected within 24 hours and that Pakistan is preparing for an electronic signing.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump referenced Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles, writing that at the appropriate time, the US would go in and get the nuclear dust. He also warned of an ultimate alternative if things do not work out smoothly.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the deal includes ending the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting the US blockade of Iranian ports. He added that talks on Iran's nuclear program would begin later.

The war began on February 28 with US and Israeli strikes across Iran, prompting Iran to attack Israel and US allies in the Gulf and effectively close the Strait of Hormuz.
