US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of attacking a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz with four drones, claiming the act violated a ceasefire agreement between the two nations. Trump posted on Truth Social that one drone struck the upper deck of a large cargo ship, while three others were intercepted.

The US president stated that the attack breached the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, which outlines the terms of the ongoing truce. In response, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced fresh strikes against Iranian targets.

CENTCOM said US aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar sites. The attack targeted the Singapore-flagged M/V Ever Lovely as it was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast.

The British maritime security agency UKMTO confirmed the attack, noting no casualties or environmental damage. The incident comes as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) was coordinating a plan to evacuate 11,000 stranded seafarers in the Gulf, but the plan has been paused.

Iran has stated that any country must coordinate with Iranian authorities for operations in the region. Meanwhile, the US has reportedly brokered a framework deal between Israel and Lebanon, though details remain unclear. The situation continues to escalate tensions across the Middle East.
