The Uzbekistan national football team suffered a 1-3 defeat against DR Congo in the final group stage match of the World Cup qualifiers. The game, held in Atlanta, was attended by 68,239 spectators.

Uzbekistan took an early lead in the 10th minute: Akmal Mozgovoy set up Eldor Shomurodov, who spotted the goalkeeper off his line and chipped the ball over him — 0:1. In the 17th minute, DR Congo's goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a foul.

The second half saw DR Congo take control. In the 66th minute, Abdukodir Khusanov committed a foul in the penalty area, leading to a penalty. Yoane Wissa converted in the 68th minute to level the score — 1:1. In the 78th minute, Meshack Elia's shot deflected off Fiston Mayele's foot into the net — 2:1. Deep into stoppage time, Wissa scored his second with a powerful strike into the bottom right corner — 3:1.

With this defeat, Uzbekistan's World Cup qualifying campaign comes to an end. In the parallel Group K match, Portugal and Colombia played out a 0-0 draw.
