The death toll from the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has reached 506, according to the latest report from the national news agency ACP.

The report states that the fatality rate of the current epidemic is 32.4%. The outbreak has also spread to neighboring Uganda.

A total of 1,561 confirmed cases have been reported in the DRC. Of these, 253 people have recovered, while 628 patients remain hospitalized.

Earlier this month, the death toll was reported at 473.
