Novak Djokovic outlasted Felix Auger-Aliassime in the longest quarterfinal in Wimbledon history, winning a five-set thriller 7-6 (12/10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7 (4/7), 7-6 (10/4) after five hours and 15 minutes on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old Serb, playing through pain after an injury in the first set, will face world number one Jannik Sinner in the semifinals on Friday. Djokovic said: “I won with a racquet and a lot of heart. These are the moments I still play tennis for.”

The victory marked Djokovic’s record-extending 15th Wimbledon semifinal and 55th Grand Slam semifinal. He also set a new record for the longest streak of men's singles semifinal appearances at the All England Club, eight consecutive years.

Coco Gauff defeated Jessica Pegula to become the first American to reach the semifinals of all four Grand Slams. She will face Karolina Muchova, who beat Naomi Osaka 7-6(4) 6-4.

Muchova, seeking her first Grand Slam title, praised Gauff as “one of the best athletes in the world.” The Czech player reached her first Wimbledon semifinal with a composed performance.
