Several people were injured in an attack at the Welfen-Gymnasium school in the town of Schongau, Bavaria, southern Germany, police said on Wednesday.
Authorities reported that a suspected perpetrator has been arrested, and the number of people involved and the severity of injuries are currently being clarified.
A large police deployment was ordered, and multiple rescue helicopters, including six from ADAC Air Rescue, were dispatched. At least one helicopter was used to treat the injured.
Schongau is a small town of over 12,000 residents on the Lech river in western Upper Bavaria. A contact point for relatives and parents was set up at the local fire station.
