The US military has carried out new strikes on Iranian territory, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced, stating that the attacks aim to “continue degrading Iran’s ability to attack commercial ships” passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The strikes were ordered by US President Donald Trump, according to CENTCOM. Explosions were reported in several locations in southwestern Iran, including the key city of Bandar Abbas and the Bushehr region, as per Iranian media.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry reacted sharply, claiming the strikes have “rendered futile” the diplomatic efforts of recent months. A statement cited by AFP said the US military action “has caused the return of insecurity to the Strait of Hormuz and disruption of international commercial shipping.”

Tehran further accused Washington of “openly” interfering in Iran’s implementation of necessary arrangements in the strait. The Iranian regime also blamed the US for violating agreements between the two countries.

The situation around the strategic waterway remains highly volatile, with both sides trading accusations. The US regime’s latest military action threatens to further destabilize global shipping routes and regional security.
