A Czech army UH-1Y Venom helicopter crashed at the 22nd Helicopter Air Force Base in Namest nad Oslavou, eastern Czech Republic, the military confirmed. Five soldiers were on board.
The regional rescue service reported one fatality and three injuries, with the wounded transported to a hospital. The crash occurred 180 kilometers southeast of Prague.
The Czech Army has not yet released details on the cause of the crash. The Venom, manufactured by Bell Textron, is a multi-role helicopter powered by two General Electric engines. Emergency crews are responding at the scene.
