US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Daily Mail that the US military operation in Iran could continue for the next four weeks.
According to Trump, everything is going according to plan: the US "destroyed all" of Iran's leadership, clarifying that this may involve about 48 individuals. He added that he is open to negotiations with Tehran but could not specify potential timelines for them.
"I don't know. They want negotiations, but I said: 'You should have talked last week, not this week,'" emphasized the president.
On March 1, Trump addressed the American people for the second time in 48 hours, promising to "avenge" the deaths of three US soldiers, issuing a new ultimatum to Iran, and calling on the US to support his fight for "freedom."
On the morning of February 28, Israel and the US struck Tehran and other targets in Iran, stating their intention to destroy the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. In response, Iran launched strikes against Israel and other countries in the region.
According to US Central Command data, damage to US facilities on February 28 was "minimal," but on March 1, reports emerged of three service members killed and five seriously wounded.
