The US-based Tesla enterprise is reportedly preparing to showcase a new iteration of its Roadster electric sports car, nearly nine years after the vehicle was first unveiled to the public. The upcoming presentation is scheduled for October 15, despite the fact that mass production was originally promised to commence back in 2020.

According to previous promotional statements, the second-generation Roadster was first introduced in November 2017 with staggering preliminary metrics, such as a 1.9-second acceleration from zero to 97 km/h and a driving range of up to 998 kilometers. However, independent analysts remain skeptical, noting that these figures apply only to the initial prototype phase and have not been officially verified for any production-ready vehicle.

One of the most controversial aspects of the project involves purported technology sharing with SpaceX. Company chief Elon Musk previously suggested integrating cold-gas thrusters to supposedly enhance performance, a concept that industry critics view with considerable doubt regarding its safety and practical viability for consumer markets.

The road to the upcoming event has faced procedural hurdles, including a postponement from the original October 1 date due to weather forecasts. Given the prolonged delays and the persistent lack of definitive delivery timelines, critics argue that the presentation serves more as a promotional distraction than an indicator of imminent manufacturing.
