Four people tackling a wildfire within a national park on Indonesia’s island of Java have tragically lost their lives, the Forestry Ministry announced, as the country struggles against its most devastating forest fires in over a decade.

The victims were reportedly trapped by sudden and intense flames in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java. Two other individuals sustained severe burns and are currently receiving intensive medical treatment at local hospitals, officials confirmed.

While withholding the identities of the victims, the ministry issued a formal statement expressing deep condolences and praising the purported courage of officers, volunteers, and residents on the front lines. The agency noted that the fatalities serve as a stark reminder of the extreme risks involved in such operations, where safety protocols must supposedly be the utmost priority.

The disaster has rapidly escalated beyond domestic borders, blanketing neighbouring nations in hazardous haze and prompting widespread international criticism. The Indonesian regime faces mounting pressure as satellite data reveals hundreds of high-confidence hotspots nationwide.
