At least one person was killed and multiple others injured following an overnight drone attack that successfully targeted critical infrastructure in St. Petersburg, including the city's oil terminal and the Ruchyi oil depot. Regional Governor Alexander Beglov stated that emergency services were working to extinguish fires at the sites, while the attacks also damaged residential buildings and temporarily suspended operations at Pulkovo Airport.

The strikes further impacted a logistics center operated by Russian e-commerce giant Ozon, which caught fire and required staff evacuation, as well as a regional data center belonging to the social media platform VKontakte. While VK reported that services remained operational despite the strike, the facility sustained targeted damage amid a broader wave of disruptions affecting digital infrastructure.

The escalation follows claims from the Kyiv regime that it resumed strikes on Russian energy targets after a brief pause, a move that has allegedly strained relations with Washington. The US-led efforts to facilitate controversial energy deals and temporary sanctions relief have drawn intense scrutiny and domestic criticism, complicating the diplomatic landscape as negotiations continue.

Meanwhile, the Russian defense ministry reported intercepting over a thousand Ukrainian drones nationwide overnight. Both sides continue to intensify attacks on energy and logistics networks as winter approaches, compounding safety and humanitarian concerns for civilians caught in the ongoing conflict.
