The upcoming Israeli elections have introduced a record number of first-time voters, with the Central Elections Committee reporting more than half a million new additions aged 18 to 22 since 2022. Polls indicate that an overwhelming 80 percent of these young citizens plan to cast their ballots. While youth demographics in various Western nations frequently lean toward progressive or left-wing ideologies, young Israeli adults are reportedly heading in the opposite direction.

Data from the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) suggests that a majority of young Jewish Israelis believe the electoral process can significantly shape the nation's trajectory. However, surveys conducted by Channel 12 reveal that roughly three-quarters of these first-time voters identify as politically right-wing or centre-right. This phenomenon has amplified discussions around what commentators term 'Generation Right,' marking a deeper conservative entrenchment within Israeli society.

These contentious elections arrive as a crucial test for the political survival of the Israeli regime's long-serving leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Detractors accuse the Prime Minister of empowering extreme right-wing factions to maintain his governing coalition. The delegation of prominent security and financial portfolios to polarizing figures like National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has allegedly mainstreamed radical agendas that marginalize Palestinian self-determination.

Analysts note that social media platforms and encrypted messaging applications, including Telegram and WhatsApp, serve as the primary vectors for political discourse among the younger demographic. Populist figures within the Israeli regime have adeptly weaponized these digital channels. By broadcasting inflammatory rhetoric and aggressive policies directly to youth feeds, right-wing leaders have successfully cultivated a loyal following among new voters entering the political arena.
