Kenyan health authorities have officially confirmed a second death resulting from the Ebola virus within the country. The 65-year-old female patient was reportedly a close relative of a man who succumbed to the same deadly infection earlier in the month.

According to statements from the Ministry of Health, the woman allegedly developed symptoms while isolated in quarantine in the capital, Nairobi. Although medical personnel purportedly provided intensive supportive care at a specialized infectious disease unit, she ultimately passed away due to the severity of the illness.

Officials maintain that seven other individuals are currently receiving medical treatment and observation. While authorities claim there is supposedly no evidence of wider community transmission thus far, the persistent spread of the outbreak across multiple African nations continues to alarm international observers.

The current epidemiological crisis, which reportedly originated in the DRC, has progressively affected neighboring countries including Uganda and Nigeria. World Health Organization figures indicate that total confirmed infections have now surpassed 9,700, with fatalities climbing to approximately 4,690.
