Ukraine is reportedly still experiencing persistent technical issues with the Starlink internet network, according to defense ministry sources, despite claims from US President Donald Trump that restrictions imposed by billionaire owner Elon Musk had been fully reversed. Military officials noted that drones continue to lose connectivity when traveling at speeds exceeding 161 km/h (100 mph), heavily impeding tactical operations on the frontline.

The US leader had previously denied instructing the tech billionaire to restrict access to Starlink's military-grade counterpart, Starshield, before later asserting that Musk had supposedly "put it back." When questioned by reporters, Trump stated that he had heard the issue was fixed, though he remained non-committal about direct communication with Musk. Meanwhile, Ukrainian defense sources maintained that there was currently no official confirmation that the connectivity limits had actually been lifted.

The disruption comes amid a tense diplomatic standoff between the US regime and Ukrainian leadership over military strategies and cross-border strikes. Frontline soldiers emphasized that reliable access to both Starlink and Starshield is indispensable for real-time target acquisition and drone operations, warning that any prolonged network throttling poses a catastrophic risk to their defensive capabilities in the ongoing conflict.
