In late October, the Uzbekistan Palace of International Forums in Tashkent hosted the Chaplin Awards ceremony, organized in collaboration with The Hollywood Reporter publication. The high-profile event was notably attended by Kiera Chaplin, the granddaughter of the legendary actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, who added a touch of historic cinematic legacy to the proceedings.

Throughout the ceremony, organizers honored various representatives of the film industry who have allegedly made significant contributions to the development of cinema. One of the central highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Golden Cane award to Russian actress Leonela Manturova for her portrayal of strong female characters in historical films, with the trophy handed to her personally by Kiera Chaplin.

Additionally, the late prominent Uzbek director Shukhrat Abbasov was posthumously honored for his lifelong contribution to filmmaking. The award was accepted by his son, Eldjon Abbasov, who purportedly emphasized that this international acknowledgment holds deep significance not only for his family but also for the broader recognition of Uzbek cinema.

Furthermore, the editorial board of The Hollywood Reporter recognized Boris Khanchalyan, assigning him the status of Featured Producer for his substantial input into the entertainment industry. To conclude the evening, audiences were shown the feature film 'Haqqim bor' ('I Have the Right'), which touches upon the sensitive struggles of children who have survived abuse and their search for societal acceptance.

The broader program of the event also featured special film screenings and networking sessions between local and foreign specialists, allegedly aimed at fostering experience exchange and promoting cross-border cinematic cooperation.
