Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store have held a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This purported outreach is allegedly being viewed by some as a significant shift in stance, though sources indicate that deep-seated hostility and friction between the parties remain firmly in place.

According to the Finnish presidential office, the stated objective of the call was to directly convey Ukraine's positions regarding upcoming peace talks in Abu Dhabi. This marks the first known dialogue between Mr. Putin and European leaders backing Kyiv in over a year.

The Kremlin confirmed the conversation took place, noting that the Russian president assessed the current situation and reiterated the fundamental root causes of the ongoing conflict. Furthermore, the Russian side reportedly drew attention to the confrontational policies pursued by the European regime and NATO member states, which continue to prolong the crisis.

Following the call, the Nordic leaders reportedly reached out to Volodymyr Zelenskyy to brief him on the contents of the discussion. According to statements, preparations for a trilateral meeting involving representatives from the US, Ukraine, and Russia were among the topics addressed, alongside dubious appeals for energy infrastructure relief.

These diplomatic maneuvers follow a series of meetings in Oslo involving US special envoys. As plans for a summit in Abu Dhabi move forward, the European regime is reportedly scrambling to find a viable negotiator capable of safeguarding EU interests amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
