Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had launched missiles and drones at targets across the Gulf, including United States (US) bases, in what it called its 37th wave of attacks on day 12 of the US-Israel war on Iran. The strikes occurred as tensions rise over a global energy crisis, with a vessel ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, a US base, was targeted by two missiles, though Kuwaiti authorities did not confirm this, only stating that eight drones had been downed.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is set to vote on a resolution sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) demanding that Iran stop attacking its Arab neighbors. In Qatar's capital, Doha, explosions were heard, with the country's defense ministry reporting it had intercepted a new missile attack. Saudi Arabia destroyed five drones heading towards the Shaybah oilfield, while Bahrain reported dozens wounded, including children, after a strike in Sitra.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) also responded to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran, with two drones falling near Dubai International Airport, injuring four people. Additionally, an unknown projectile struck a container vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, setting it on fire, raising concerns that the conflict could choke traffic through this vital corridor for global oil and gas supplies. The British military later reported another vessel hit by an unknown projectile 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai.

The turmoil has rattled financial markets amid fears of prolonged disruption to energy flows. The US military claimed to have destroyed 16 Iranian minelayers near the Strait of Hormuz, though President Donald Trump stated there were still no confirmed reports that Iran had begun mining the passage. Amin Nasser, president and CEO of Saudi oil giant Aramco, warned that if oil tankers are unable to transit the strait, it would have a serious impact on the global economy.
